WORK > Memorials (2016)

This site-specific wall drawing recounts a scene from a series of dreams I experienced in late Spring 2015, that foretold the death of my father. The piece functions both as homage to my late father, as well as a posthumous collaboration. The parachute featured in the piece belonged to my father, a water sports instructor. While I pull much of my imagery from personal experience, my process was also informed by themes in literature, anthropology, and mythology. “My work seeks to reveal life in its many complexities. Through the use of metaphoric symbolism and iconography within each piece, I use images to communicate layered messages.”
